Matthew 5:16: Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Hebrews 13:2: Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.
II Corinthians 5:19-20: To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.
Meditation: Have you ever thought about the fact that YOU might be the “angel” to another person? God has made all of us ambassadors, and given to all of us the ministry of reconciliation. He uses all of us as messengers – the Greek word for angel is messenger.
This was made apparent to me (yet once more!) through two sermons by different men which together were exactly what I needed to hear. Though the circumstances aren’t fully resolved, I received encouragement about my situation, and I’m reminded that the outcome is in God’s hands, and my attitude needs to be of trust and submission to His will. I also need to remember that I am always representing my Lord, and I need to let Him work for others through me, just as these two men together were used of the Holy Spirit. God is for us! Let Him work through you!
My Prayer: Thank you Lord for faithful men, who are willing to be used by you. Thank you for the Holy Spirit working in me through the Word. Thank you for the Word. Cleanse me so that I may be a useful tool in your hand, not on a shelf.
