Have you ever been in a situation, a difficult spot, a hard place in your life when you thought that there was no way out, no answer to your problem, no deliverance from your dilemma? I’m sure that Abram felt somewhat like that when God promised to make him a father of many nations at the age of 75. As Abram waited on God to fulfill His promise he wasn’t getting any younger nor was his wife Sarai. Tick, tick, tick, tick…..so the time went. Abram eventually took the matter into his own hands and out of God’s. However, Ishmael was not the son of promise. At the ripe old age of 99, God reveals Himself to Abram as El Shaddai, God Almighty in Genesis 17:1 reaffirming the promise to make Abram the father of many nations and God did fulfill that promise with the birth of Isaac. WOW! Going back to our text, “Is there anything too hard for Almighty God?” Emphatically, unequivocally no!
Trusting and obeying God is always the best plan. Too often we rely upon our own wisdom or our feelings in making decisions. However, neither our wisdom nor our feelings are good guides. It is God’s will for us to trust Him and let Him be our guide. Even when we do not understand.
Have you ever said, “How can this be?” Perhaps you have tried to do right and it seems like things are not working out. Maybe the more you try to live for God the more difficult things become. Well, you are not alone. However, we must remember to trust the LORD with all our hearts; meaning our minds are stayed on Christ, our emotions controlled by the Holy Spirit, and our wills committed to following the Father even when we do not understand. When we lean unto our own understanding our minds become troubled, our emotions can fly out of control, and temptations to follow our flesh increase. We must commit to trusting God in all of the issues of life.
There is no doubt that we are living in some very trying times. Satan seems to be working over-time in his effort to destroy our country, our churches, our very lives. One may ask, “How can I ever make it through this?” Praise God! He’s the One Who will keep us from falling! He’s the One that will present us faultless before the presence of His glory!
In the midst of turbulent times when the winds of adversity try to blow you off course
My main problem is not with the people and things around me but the sin that resides in me.
Oh how we can needlessly suffer.
One may ask, “How can I ever make it through this?”
What are you trusting in?
the Creator of all flesh isn’t limited in power as we who are flesh;
