BEING READY TO SHARE THE GOSPEL
According to this verse every Christian should be ready to share the best news with the unsaved. Many times when I fail to share Christ with the unsaved, it is because I am not ready. My mind is focused on earthly things or I am focused on self.
THE PRAYER CLOSET
God expects every Christian to talk to his heavenly father in prayer. We are instructed to pray in private and to make prayer a conversation with God, not a show. God promises that our heavenly Father will hear our prayer and reward us openly.
REJOICE WHEN REVILED
God warns Christians that people will lie about us. We can’t control what others say about us, but we can control how we will respond. God tells us when this happens to us, that instead of getting angry and bitter we are to rejoice. God tells us to rejoice because our reward will be great in heaven.
WHEN YOUR ENEMY FALLS
God warns us not to rejoice in our hearts when we hear that something bad has happened to our enemy. God always knows what is going on in our hearts, and our wrong response brings displeasure to him. God says that He will turn away His wrath from our enemy and judge us for the wrong attitude that we have in our heart. God commands every Christian to love his or her personal enemies since one of the chief measures of a true Christians is loving our enemies. Such love includes being grieved when our enemy falls or stumbles in life. If we are glad or rejoice when bad things happen to an enemy, we have sinned.
VAIN THOUGHTS
There are a lot of vain thoughts that we face every day, According to the Psalmist I need to hate every vain thought because it affects my attitude and actions. I need to replace vain thoughts with the Word of God. Instead of being controlled by vain thoughts, I need to be controlled by God’s Word.
JOY IN SERVING
Jesus had just washed His disciples’ feet. Jesus humbled Himself and did the job of a slave when the other disciples failed to humble themselves and wash the dirty feet of others. Jesus told His disciples that it is not enough to know what is right, the joy comes from doing what is right.
SEASONED SPEECH
God commands me to always use words that edify all men. Grace is giving a person something that they don’t deserve. All my words should be seasoned with salt so that I will make people thirsty for Jesus.
SUFFICIENT GRACE
I am so thankful that God’s grace is always sufficient for all my weaknesses. When I realize that I am weak, God’s grace is always my strength. This verse tells me that God is enough for every situation that I face.
I AM THAT I AM
God told Moses that He was the Great I Am. God was telling Moses that whatever Moses needed He would be that for Moses. If Moses needed strength, God would be his strength. If Moses needed wisdom God would be his wisdom. God is whatever we need today.
THE FRAILTY OF LIFE
I need to be reminded of the brevity of my life and how frail I really am. I need to live for the glory of God and eternity.
