Proverbs 14:23: In all labor there is profit; but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
Meditation: We’re living in extreme times. The pandemic, social unrest, crazy weather and eroding morals, ad nauseum! As a business owner, I have a lot of contact with other business owners and amongst the deafening cacophony that I hear across the four states that we service is difficulty in finding anyone that wants to work. I know, I know……not everyone that is out of work wants to stay out but the feedback I’m getting from business owners and managers is it’s nearly impossible to find help although there are many jobs available. I just want to emphasize what God says in our text, “In all labor there is profit….” God honors labor and it’s a honor to work and provide for our families. Work is indeed honorable and if one is physically able to be gainfully employed then one ought to be!
Prayer: Lord, I know this is an uncomfortable topic for some but I’d rather offend people rather than you by not sharing what your Word says about work. I pray for those who are struggling and are actively looking for employment, that they would be able to find it. Help us to be good testimonies to a lost world by showing others a work ethic that brings honor to you. Amen.
