MORAL RELATIVISM

MORAL RELATIVISM

Judges 17:6: ln those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

Meditation: There certainly isn’t anything new under the sun! Moral Relativism was just as prevalent in those days as it is in ours! According to moral relativism, there is not a single true morality. There are a variety of possible moralities or moral frames of reference, and whether something is morally right or wrong, good or bad, just or unjust, etc. is a relative matter-relative to one or another morality or moral frame of reference.

One may think that it’s okay to steal while another believes that it’s wrong, so who’s “right”? Both can’t be but yet that’s what we see in our current state of affairs! Everyone has their own opinion and justify their actions based upon their own set of moral, amoral or immoral rules. We must not forget what Proverbs 14:12 has to say “There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” Our standard of morality is God Himself who is Holy, Righteous and Pure and praise God, He never changes!

Prayer: Heavenly Father, may we never get caught up in calling what’s evil, good! Help us to be mindful of the warning in Isaiah 5:20….Woe unto them who call evil, good, and good, evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter. Amen.
