Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
Mat 1:22-23 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Meditation: Some 700 years before the birth of Christ Isaiah prophesied of the amazing event that would take place. He said His name would be Emmanuel, meaning “God With Us.” What a demonstration of humility for God himself to come to earth in flesh to live among us!
Prayer: Jesus, thank you for your great love for us whereby you were willing to leave the majesty of heaven to come to earth and live in the most humble of fashions. You deserved to be welcomed as a king, but lived as a servant. Thank you! Amen.
