Colossians 3:11-14: Where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcision nor uncircumcision, Barbarian, Scythian, bond nor free: but Christ is all, and in all.
12 Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; 13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. 14 And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
Meditation: This does not mean that you can put on love and ignore the others. Rather, to put on love above all these things is to superimpose love upon all the others things we are to put on. If you put on a compassionate heart, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, and longsuffering without putting on love we are really just putting on a show. However, if you superimpose love on top of those things the ending result will be a bond of peace and unity within the church. (Eph. 4:3)
Prayer: Lord, help us to superimpose love onto everything we do in service to you. Help us to love all of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Amen.
