Ephesians 2:10: For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them. Philippians 1:6: Being confident of this very thing, that he who hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
Meditation: These two verses have blessed me tremendously through the years. They assure me that although I may feel at times that in my walk with the Lord I’m taking a step forward and two steps back, I’m God’s workmanship created in Jesus unto good works. I can be confident that what He has ordained will come to pass.Reminds me of a song I used to sing to the kids when I would push them on the swing:
“He’s still working on me. To make me what I ought to be. It took Him just a week to make the moon and stars Sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars. How loving and patient He must be ‘Cause He’s still working on me.”
Prayer: Dear heavenly Father, thank you for your promise of conforming us to the image of Jesus. Help us not to judge anyone because you are still working in each of us, we’re all in the race although some seem to be further ahead and some further behind. Mold us and shape us into your image that others may see Jesus through the good works that are done in your power and name. Amen.
