GO TO THE OFFENDER

GO TO THE OFFENDER

Matthew 18:15: Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.

Meditation: As Christians, when we have been offended, God has commanded us to go to the offending person alone, and tell him or her how he or she has offended us. We sin when we talk to others about how we have been hurt instead of going to the person that hurt us. When we tell others how we have been hurt, instead of going to the offending person, we are not seeking reconciliation but revenge.

Prayer: Lord, please give me the power to go to the person that has offended me, instead of telling others about my hurt. I also need grace to forgive others who instead of coming to me when I offend them, tell their friends and others about their hurt.
